Centre GIves

Organized by the Centre Foundation, Centre Gives is a 36-hour online giving event that provides matching funds to non-profits serving the Centre County community.  Our heartfelt thanks goes out to each of you who made donations to CVIM through this year's Centre Gives Campaign that was held on May 11, 2021 and May 12, 2021.

Flutopia Runs

The Flutopia Run is a unique charity event in which joggers and walkers are serenaded by great area musicians as they make their way around their running/jogging routes.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was conducted virtually in 2020 and was again be held virtually in 2021.  With distances including 1 mile, 5k, and 10k, participants ran on their own chosen routes and on their own chosen day and time during the month of August.

Each registrant was given a playlist including the flutabulous rendition of Flight of the Bumblebee to get them started followed by Jazz, New Age, Irish, Classical, and Latin American tunes provided by our Flutopia Musicians. All participants also received a souvenir "My Feet Fly for Flutopia" race bib and a medal.

Thanks to you all that participated in this event to support CVIM.

Nittany Valley Half-Marathon
December 5, 2021

First run in 1984, the Nittany Valley Half-Marathon has since blossomed into one of the region’s most popular road races, drawing several hundred runners each year.  The 13.1-mile course begins & ends on the Penn State campus, touring through rolling countryside, along scenic Spring Creek and through quaint Houserville.

In lieu of a virtual event, we want to have a way people can participate or donate without attending the live event. You can run your own 13.1 miles or surf your couch or show your business's support by signing up as a non-runner!

Herbie's Home "Town Run"

2021 would have marked the 14th Annual Herbie’s Hometown Loop in Bellefonte, a 4-mile community run/walk and 10-mile run held in honor of Jeremy Herbstritt, a 1998 Bellefonte Area High School graduate and 2003 and 2005 Penn State alumnus who died in the April 16, 2007 mass shootings at Virginia Tech.  Unfortunately, due to the current COVID19 health crisis, this event went virtual this year.  Participants ran or walked 4 or 10 miles on their own in memory of all victims of gun violence and submitted their times to our race director.

Thank you to all who participated in this event and supported the mission of CVIM.
